I got my start as a DJ when I was 18 yrs old back in 2002 when I graduated from high school. I had already been playing piano and guitar since the age of 6 when I truly got into music, but I was always fascinated by the idea of one person rockin’ an entire crowd. I put a set of Numark turntables and a matching Numark mixer on lay-a-way until I was able to save enough to take them home with me. I was only able to afford 7 records for the first 4 months of owning my own equipment so I spent all my time learning how to match and blend beats. After yrs of practicing, collecting vinyl and spending many nights tucked away from my friends and family, I was able to make my way into the scene as a professional DJ in 2006.
Now I’m rockin’ on a pair of Stanton STR8-150 decks (equivalent to Technics), a Rane TTM-56 mixer and a Serato based library of music that keeps me up-to-date with any style of music I would need for any type of gig. I’m also adding producer/remixer to my resume as my main goal with music is to be a producer/engineer.
In the meantime, I’m doing gigs all over the city playing all types of music to keep my style fresh and working in the Shoebox Studio to produce tracks that speak a universal language that is music!
